Village women can join a Sakhi Mandal for group funds and bank loans.

Jobs: registration, apprenticeships and the women's quota
- Register on Anubandham (anubandham.gujarat.gov.in or the app): choose Registration, then Job Seeker, and verify your mobile. It is free and lists private and government openings and job fairs.
- In Ahmedabad or Jamnagar, visit the women-only employment exchange, which also gives career guidance. Ahmedabad: (079) 22681248. Jamnagar: (0288) 2564654.
- Take a paid apprenticeship. The state adds ₹3,000 a month for graduates on top of the central stipend.
- Claim the women's quota in government job forms. 33% of direct recruitment posts in every category are kept for women, and women get a 5-year age relaxation.
Gujarat pays no unemployment allowance, and there is no free or half-fare bus travel for women in general. Only village girl students travelling to study get a free bus pass.
What changed in 2025 and 2026
- The Ganga Swarupa pension is now for life. The old rule that stopped it when a son turned 21 was removed. About 17.32 lakh widows were being paid in 2025-26.
- The Vajpayee Bankable Yojana loan limit rose from ₹8 lakh to ₹25 lakh in May 2025, and the subsidy cap from ₹1.25 lakh to ₹3.75 lakh (₹5 lakh for SC, ST and disabled applicants).
- The Mahila Swavlamban subsidy went up to 30% (40% for widows and disabled women), but only about 500 women a year are helped.
- Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh looks paused. It was a ₹1 lakh loan for a group of 10 women, never for one woman alone. It is missing from the 2026-27 budget documents and its portal is offline.

- No sign of new loans in 2026: the scheme is not listed in the state's Development Programme or Outcome Budget 2026-27, and the portal mmuy.gujarat.gov.in did not open when checked on 5 October 2026.
- Who can apply
- A group of 10 women who want credit (Joint Liability Earning and Saving Group, JLESG)
- Each woman aged 18 to 59
- Widows and deserted women get priority
- An existing group can join only if it has no unpaid loan
- Documents
- Group resolution and member list
- Aadhaar of each member
- Group bank account details
- How to apply
- Form or join a group of 10 women through your village livelihood staff (GLPC) or city livelihood mission office (GULM)
- The group applies to a bank, cooperative or approved lender for ₹1 lakh
- Repay ₹10,000 a month on time so the government pays the interest
In person: Taluka livelihood office of Mission Mangalam (GLPC) in villages; city livelihood mission (GULM) office at the municipality in towns
- Run by
- Rural Development Department through Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company (GLPC) in villages, and Urban Development Department through Gujarat Urban Livelihood Mission (GULM) in towns
Many websites still show 'apply online' pages for this in 2026, but there is no individual loan and we found no official 2026 activity. Do not pay anyone a fee to 'register' for it. Repayment is ₹10,000 a month for the group (₹1 lakh loan plus ₹20,000 savings in a year).

Mission Mangalam (Sakhi Mandal self-help groups)
OpenAlso called Sakhi Mandal, Mission Mangalam, GLPC, Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company, Lakhpati Didi Gujarat, NRLM Gujarat, SHG revolving fund Gujarat
Her Sakhi Mandal gets a revolving fund of ₹20,000 to ₹30,000, up to ₹1,50,000 from the Community Investment Fund, and bank loans; members also get training and help to sell products
Village women form a Sakhi Mandal (self-help group of 10 to 20 women), save together and get group funds and cheap bank loans to start small businesses. Help comes to the group, which then lends to members.
- Status
- Active in 2026: 7,966 new SHGs were formed in 2025-26 and 4,405 got a revolving fund (Development Programme 2026-27); GLPC posted new notices in August 2026. Checked 5 October 2026.
- Who can apply

- Joins or forms a Sakhi Mandal of 10 to 20 women from the same area
- Only one woman per family can be a member
- Group must hold regular meetings and savings
- Documents
- Aadhaar card
- Bank account (group account is opened together)
- Group register and meeting records
- How to apply
- Ask the village community resource person (CRP), Bank Sakhi or the taluka livelihood office to join or start a Sakhi Mandal

- Run by
- Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company Ltd. (GLPC), Rural Development Department, Government of Gujarat (state rural livelihood mission)
This is Gujarat's name for the national rural livelihood mission (NRLM), so the money is partly central. A woman gets nothing on her own: everything comes through her group. The 'Lakhpati Didi' label is a target (family income above ₹1 lakh a year), not a cash payment.

Fake schemes going around
These were checked and found false. A real scheme never asks you to pay to register, and never comes only as a WhatsApp link. If you lost money, call 1930 or report it at cybercrime.gov.in.
- Fake"Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana 2026: apply online for a ₹1 lakh interest-free loan for every woman"
Misleading. The scheme only ever lent to groups of 10 women through official agencies, and its portal is offline. There is no individual online form, so don't pay anyone to "register" you. Government of Gujarat, via the Internet Archive
- FakeA "Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana" app file sent on WhatsApp
Government schemes never send app files. An Ahmedabad man lost about ₹20 lakh after installing one in 2026. The420.in, 2026
- Fake"Mahila Work From Home Yojana": home-based work at ₹25,000 a month
PIB Fact Check: fake. No such government work scheme exists. PIB Fact Check, 20 February 2026
More fake schemes, checked for all of India, are on the schemes page.
