Government schemes for women in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, mostly help to start a business

Its main help is for work: under the Investment Promotion Scheme 2022, a first generation woman entrepreneur gets an extra 10% capital subsidy, up to ₹15 lakh, on a new unit, and women get 10% more on cottage industry and handloom subsidies. Widows aged 18 to 59 with family income under ₹1.5 lakh can claim the UT's widow pension.

Investment Promotion Scheme 2022: what women get
- New or bigger unit: a basic 15% capital subsidy, and 10% more, up to ₹15 lakh, for a first generation woman entrepreneur. Women must own at least 60% of the business.
- Interest help changed in 2026. A circular of 19 August 2026 says that from 1 April 2026 the UT pays half your loan interest only when the bank charges 10% or less; above that the help stops at 5 points. Women get 10% more interest subsidy.
- Cottage industry: 25% of a bank loan of up to ₹20 lakh (up to ₹5 lakh), plus half the interest for 5 years. You need to have passed standard 4 and have training or a year's experience.
- Tool kits for SC, ST, OBC and EWS families in 27 trades, such as a ₹25,000 tailoring kit. Paper cup making and cotton wick kits are only for women in self-help groups. We found no 2026 distribution notice, so ask first.
The scheme ends on 19 May 2027. Units that start after that date may get nothing, so apply early.
Jobs: the employment exchange and the police quota
- Register online on the Labour and Employment portal (labourdnhdd.in). The card is ready in about 2 working days and a renewal takes 1 day. It is free.
- Watch for job fairs. The Department of Industries held a Rozgar Mela in Nani Daman on 1 September 2026; such fairs are announced on ddd.gov.in.
- Police jobs: 33% of Police Constable posts are kept for women in every category, as the UT Police's draft recruitment rules of August 2026 say.
We found no unemployment allowance in this UT, and no women's quota for other UT government jobs.

Fake schemes going around
These were checked and found false. A real scheme never asks you to pay to register, and never comes only as a WhatsApp link. If you lost money, call 1930 or report it at cybercrime.gov.in.
- FakeA "Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Yojana" pays ₹51,000 in Dadra and Nagar Haveli
Wrong. The UT has no Chief Minister; it is run by an Administrator. Any "CM scheme" offered here is not a UT scheme. UT Administration of DNH and DD
- Fake"One ₹1,500 pension covers old age, widows and disability, if income is under ₹72,000"
Not what the UT's own form says. Widows aged 18 to 59 apply for a separate widow pension, and the income limit is ₹1.5 lakh a year. District Panchayat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli
- FakeA "Women SHG Revolving Fund" gives ₹1 to ₹3 lakh at 0% interest
No such UT scheme appears on any Administration page. Self-help group support here comes through the national rural livelihood mission. District Panchayat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli
More fake schemes, checked for all of India, are on the schemes page.
