Ladki Bahin in 2026: what is true now
- The amount is ₹1,500 a month. The ₹2,100 rise promised in 2024 has no government order, and the 2026-27 budget funded ₹1,500. On 1 October 2026 the state information office said a viral "₹1,800 started" claim was false.
- New applications are closed. In September 2026 the state information office said posts about forms reopening were false. Don't click such links.
- e-KYC closed on 31 December 2025. Women who didn't finish it were removed, along with families above ₹2.5 lakh income or with a government employee. News reports put the removals at 80 to 92 lakh names.
- Payments come in batches, not on a fixed date. The August 2026 instalment started reaching accounts in late September 2026.
If you finished e-KYC and were still removed, call 181. The minister said in July 2026 that such complaints are being checked again.
Jobs: registration, paid training and the women's quota
- Register on the Mahaswayam employment portal (rojgar.mahaswayam.gov.in). It is free and lists you for vacancies and job fairs (rojgar melava).
- If you are 18 to 35 with 12th pass or more, apply for paid training under the Chief Minister's youth training scheme: ₹6,000 a month with 12th pass, ₹8,000 with ITI or a diploma, ₹10,000 with a degree, for 11 months.
- Claim the women's quota in government job forms. Women get 30% of posts in Maharashtra government jobs, under a Government Resolution of 25 May 2001. You need a Maharashtra domicile certificate and, unless you are SC or ST, a current non-creamy-layer certificate.
Maharashtra does not pay an unemployment allowance. The paid training is the nearest thing to it, and it also gives work experience.

- Go to any bank branch, small finance bank, NBFC or microfinance lender, or apply online on the JanSamarth portal

Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)
OpenAlso called PMEGP loan, KVIC loan subsidy, margin money subsidy
Subsidy of 25% to 35% of the project cost on a bank loan for a new unit (women: 35% in villages, 25% in towns); project cost up to ₹50 lakh (manufacturing) or ₹20 lakh (service)
Helps a person start a new small factory or service unit outside farming. The bank gives the loan and the government pays part of the project cost as a one-time subsidy. Women count as a special category, so they get the higher subsidy and put in only 5% of their own money.
- Status

- No income ceiling
- At least VIII standard pass for projects above ₹10 lakh in manufacturing or above ₹5 lakh in business/service

- How to apply
- Apply online on the PMEGP portal (New Application)

- Complete the short EDP training (not needed for projects up to ₹2 lakh)
- The bank sanctions the loan and the subsidy is routed through the bank
In person: District Industries Centre (DIC) or KVIC / KVIB office
- Run by
- Ministry of MSME (KVIC, State KVIBs and District Industries Centres)
It is a subsidy on a bank loan, not a grant: you must get a bank loan and put in 5% (special category) or 10% (general) yourself.

These were checked and found false. A real scheme never asks you to pay to register, and never comes only as a WhatsApp link. If you lost money, call 1930 or report it at cybercrime.gov.in.

Questions
My Ladki Bahin instalment hasn't come. What do I do?
Payments go out in batches when the state releases funds, not on a fixed date. Check that your e-KYC was completed and your bank account is linked to Aadhaar, then call 181.
When will Ladki Bahin become ₹2,100?
There is no government order for it. The 2026-27 budget funds ₹1,500 a month, and the state has called videos about ₹2,100 or ₹1,800 false.
Can I register for Ladki Bahin now?
No. New applications are closed as of October 2026, and posts saying they have reopened are fake.
Why was my name removed from Ladki Bahin?
The main reasons were e-KYC not done, family income above ₹2.5 lakh, someone in the family with a government job or paying income tax, a four-wheeler in the family, or being over 65.
Do women get a half ticket on ST buses?
Yes. Women get 50% off on MSRTC ST buses under the Mahila Sanman scheme. City buses are not covered.
How much is the widow pension in Maharashtra?
The Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar scheme pays ₹1,500 a month to destitute widows and other women on their own, if family income is up to ₹21,000 a year or the family is on the BPL list. Apply at the Tahsildar office.
Does Maharashtra pay an unemployment allowance?
No. The nearest help is the Chief Minister's youth training scheme, which pays ₹6,000 to ₹10,000 a month for 11 months of training at a workplace.
Is there a quota for women in Maharashtra government jobs?
Yes, 30% of posts, under a Government Resolution of 25 May 2001. You need a Maharashtra domicile certificate and, unless SC or ST, a non-creamy-layer certificate.
