What data entry pays in India
PayScale, which collects pay that people report, puts a data entry operator in India at about ₹2.4 lakh a year on average, with most people between ₹1.2 lakh and ₹4.6 lakh. At entry level, with less than a year's experience, the average is about ₹1.9 lakh a year, roughly ₹16,000 a month. Part-time work pays less, in proportion to your hours.
For government data entry jobs, the Staff Selection Commission asks for a typing speed of 8,000 key presses an hour, about 27 words a minute. Those jobs are office-based, but the same speed is a fair target for home-based work too.
