Jobs and pensions
- Register at the Regional Employment Exchange, Sector 17. It registered 1,443 people in 2025. Names are sent for notified vacancies, not for outsourced jobs.
- Women's quota: a Chandigarh Police order of April 2026 records 33% of Group C direct recruitment posts kept for women. We found no UT-wide order, so check each advert.
- Widow and destitute women pension: ₹1,000 a month for women aged 18 to 60 living in Chandigarh over 3 years, with family income up to ₹1.5 lakh; ₹1,300 for a BPL widow aged 40 to 79 with the central top-up. The rate has not changed since 2016, and no funds were released from October 2025, per the MP's statement in Parliament in February 2026.
