Maiyan Samman in 2026: what is true now
- ₹2,500 a month, straight into your own Aadhaar-linked bank account. It started at ₹1,000 in August 2024 and rose to ₹2,500 from December 2024. The 2026-27 budget keeps ₹14,066 crore for it, with no change to the amount.
- Who can get it: women living in Jharkhand, aged 18 to under 50, with a yellow, pink, white or green ration card.
- Not eligible: if you or your husband (or your father, if you are unmarried) has a government job, a government pension, pays income tax or has EPF, or if anyone in the family is an MP or MLA.
- Verification decides who is paid. Women had to file the verification form at their Anganwadi centre by 31 May 2026, and news reports say payment stopped for those who didn't.
- No open sign-up window is shown on the official portal as of 9 October 2026. New forms are taken only at government camps and centres.
Sites giving an exact number of women "removed" from the list, or a 22nd or 23rd instalment date, are guessing. No official count has been published. The only portal is mmmsy.jharkhand.gov.in.
Jobs: training, the allowance and the quota
- Take a free course under Mukhyamantri Sarthi Yojana if you are 18 to 35. If you travel from home, you get ₹1,000 a month for travel while you train.
- Or a BIRSA course at your block, in sewing, tailoring, beautician work and other trades. Women can join up to age 50.
- If no job comes within 3 months of finishing, ask the centre about Rojgar Protsahan Bhatta: ₹1,500 a month for women (₹1,000 for men), for up to a year.
- Register at your district employment exchange. It is free, and the old online portal was not loading on 9 October 2026, so go in person.
Jharkhand has no general unemployment allowance and no free bus travel for women. The Governor announced a 33% quota for women in government jobs on 11 December 2024, but we found no notified rule by 9 October 2026; check each JPSC and JSSC advertisement for the quota it applies.

Many websites say Jharkhand pays a general unemployment allowance of ₹5,000 a month to graduates. We found no official Jharkhand page for that, so it is not listed. The only official allowance for jobless people we found is this one, tied to JSDMS training. The page does not say how to claim it, so ask the centre.

OpenAlso called PMEGP loan, KVIC loan subsidy, margin money subsidy
Subsidy of 25% to 35% of the project cost on a bank loan for a new unit (women: 35% in villages, 25% in towns); project cost up to ₹50 lakh (manufacturing) or ₹20 lakh (service)
Helps a person start a new small factory or service unit outside farming. The bank gives the loan and the government pays part of the project cost as a one-time subsidy. Women count as a special category, so they get the higher subsidy and put in only 5% of their own money.

Fake schemes going around
These were checked and found false. A real scheme never asks you to pay to register, and never comes only as a WhatsApp link. If you lost money, call 1930 or report it at cybercrime.gov.in.
