Subhadra in 2026: what is true now
- ₹5,000 twice a year: on Rakhi Purnima and on International Women's Day (8 March), up to ₹50,000 over 5 years. The 5th instalment was paid on 28 August 2026, so the next is due around 8 March 2027.
- The 2026 registration window ran from 1 to 30 April 2026, for women who had never applied and were 21 to 59 on 1 April. Watch your Anganwadi centre and the portal for the next one.
- You don't need to apply again every year. Women already registered stay on.
- Unmarried women qualify too, and families with or without NFSA or SFSS ration cards can apply.
- Not eligible: families earning over ₹2.5 lakh a year, income tax payers, government employees or pensioners, an MP, MLA or elected member in the family, a four-wheeler, more than 5 acres of irrigated (or 10 of unirrigated) land, or ₹1,500 a month or more from another government scheme.
If your money didn't come, check that the bank account is in your name only, linked to Aadhaar and DBT-enabled, and that your e-KYC is done. Helpline 14678.
Jobs: registration, training and the women's quota
- Register on the employment exchange portal. It is free; your name is sent for notified vacancies and you're invited to yearly job fairs.
- Take a job-linked course on Skilled in Odisha, across about 170 courses in healthcare, retail, IT, apparel, tourism and home care.
- If you have an ITI, diploma or BTech, look at World Skill Center admissions each April to May. Its long courses cost ₹30,000 for Odisha students, with hostel and food paid.
- Claim the women's quota in government job forms. One third of direct recruitment posts in each category are kept for women, under the Orissa Civil Services (Reservation of Vacancies for Women in Public Service) Rules, 1994.
Odisha pays no unemployment allowance, and there is no everyday free bus travel for women; free Ama Bus rides were given only on single days such as Raksha Bandhan.

Fake schemes going around
These were checked and found false. A real scheme never asks you to pay to register, and never comes only as a WhatsApp link. If you lost money, call 1930 or report it at cybercrime.gov.in.
- Fake"Pay to get or submit your Subhadra form"
The form and registration are free. Police arrested people charging for forms in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela, and the government warned service centres that charge. OdishaBytes, September 2024
- FakeAn "Aadhaar linking" link used at service centres to update Subhadra details
Fraud. In Keonjhar, fraudsters used such a link to empty women's bank accounts. Use only subhadra.odisha.gov.in, and never let anyone enter your Aadhaar into an unknown link. OdishaBytes, October 2024
- Fake"₹1 lakh to every woman under Mahila Swarozgar Yojana"
PIB Fact Check: fake. No such scheme exists. LatestLY
