• Unemployment or income certificate issued by a Gazetted Officer
• Age proof: HSLC (Matriculation) certificate or birth certificate (applications without it are not considered)

• Bank passbook copy
• Passport-size photograph

How to apply

1. Download the application form from the Social Welfare website or collect it from your District Social Welfare Office.
2. Fill it in, attach the documents above and a copy of the bank passbook.
3. Submit it to your District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) on or before 31 October 2026.
4. A district committee and then a state committee choose the final list.

Monthly pension for poor widows aged 40 to 59, and for HIV positive widows and single women aged 18 to 59, who do not already get a pension under the national schemes.

The official 2022 notice gives age, income and documents but does not state the amount. The Rs 500 a month figure comes from a July 2026 state welfare report and the central e-governance directory, which also shows a conflicting older line of Rs 2,000 a year. Confirm the amount at the District Social Welfare Office. The government also posted a notice that new enrolment had been stopped earlier, then reopened it for this window.

Sources disagree on the amount. The Ukhrul district government page says Rs. 1,500 a month; the department's old rules page says Rs. 60 a month and appears out of date. Any adult living in Manipur can register free at the district employment exchange for her area. A woman who moved to Manipur after marriage can use her father's or husband's Manipur resident status as proof.

A planned grant for about 3.5 lakh women who belong to self-help groups. Support is spread over three years: a ₹10,000 grant in the first year, then interest-free loans.

Announced in the 9 March 2026 budget with Rs 350 crore; the Cabinet approved it on 28 August 2026; detailed guidelines and the start of payments were not published as of 14 October 2026.

• Women who are members of recognised self-help groups (SHGs)
• Selection method and cut-off dates are not yet published

Also called Startup Manipur, Manipur seed grant for startups

Seed grant up to ₹3 lakh; for revenue-stage startups, funding from financial institutions up to ₹100 lakh, which includes a 30 percent grant

State support for startups, open to anyone with an innovative, scalable business idea, women included. It is not a women-only scheme. The policy aims for 40 percent women-led startups but has no separate women's grant.

Status

The 2022 policy runs for 5 years from 2022; I found no notice ending it as of 14 October 2026. I could not open the state's own startup portal to confirm intake dates.

Who can apply

• A business entity, firm or individual enterprise with an innovative and scalable business idea (for the seed grant)
• Startups recognised by DPIIT and Manipur Startup get an exemption from earnest money in government tenders

1. Read the incentive sheet for the stage of your business.
2. Register through the Startup Manipur portal run by the Planning Department (confirm the current link with the department).

Support for rural women's self-help groups: revolving fund, community investment fund, bank loan linkage, skills training and placement

The state rural livelihoods mission brings poor rural households into self-help groups. It gives groups a revolving fund, a community investment fund and bank loan linkage, and trains rural youth aged 18 to 35 for self-employment.

Status

Mission is running; it lists 14,040 SHGs entered and 22,564 Lakhpati Didi developed; checked 14 October 2026. Joining is through the mission office.

• Poor rural households, with focus on SC, ST, single and female-headed households, persons with disabilities and landless people
• Rural youth aged 18 to 35 for the self-employment training (RSETI)

Per-group amounts are not stated on the pages I could open, so none are given here. This mission is a central programme run by the state. The new WE Manipur grant is meant for women in recognised SHGs, so being in a group now may matter later.
