Ekal Mahila Swarojgar: how the grant works
- Up to ₹2 lakh for a project, 75% as a grant. The state gives up to ₹1.5 lakh and you put in the other 25%.
- Who can apply: single women aged 21 to 50 living in Uttarakhand: widows, deserted, divorced or unmarried destitute women, survivors of crime or acid attack, and single women with a disability.
- It runs in yearly rounds. The 2026-27 round took forms only by registered post to the district office, until 5 pm on 14 August 2026. It is now closed.
- No income limit is stated in the July 2026 notice, so pages quoting ₹72,000 are out of date.
Get the form from the District Programme Officer or CDPO office, or the official notice. Nobody needs to be paid to "select" you.
Jobs: registration, training, loans and the 30% quota
- Register on the Rojgar portal or at an employment exchange or Common Service Centre. You get a job card and notifications; there is no allowance.
- Take a free 3 to 6 month course with the Skill Development Mission, meant for unskilled and semi-skilled people and school dropouts.
- For a bigger business, Mukhyamantri Swarojgar Yojana 2.0 gives a bank loan with a 15% to 30% margin money subsidy. Ask your District Industries Centre.
- Claim the women's quota in government job forms. 30% of posts are kept for women domiciled in Uttarakhand, under the state's horizontal reservation for women law.
Uttarakhand pays no unemployment allowance. Bus travel is free for women only on Raksha Bandhan (28 and 29 August in 2026); free Roadways travel for women aged 60 and over was announced in August 2026 but we found no official order yet.

- Group selection rules are in the mission's SHG module
- Documents
- Ask the block office or SHG; the mission page does not list documents
- How to apply
- Ask your Gram Panchayat or block office for the nearest SHG or village organisation.
- Join an existing group or form one with other women of your village.
- The group then links to the mission for training and funds.
In person: Block office or the mission office: Aajeevika Bhawan, Tapowan Road, Raipur, Dehradun, phone 0135-2786789
- Run by
- Uttarakhand State Rural Livelihood Mission, Rural Development Department
The mission site lists only statewide totals (for example ₹8,589.42 lakh of revolving fund to 57,859 SHGs and ₹31,205.83 lakh of community investment fund to 44,909 SHGs), not what one group receives. The Chief Minister's portal says SHGs get interest-free loans of up to ₹5 lakh, but I did not find that rule on the mission pages, so ask the block office. Lakhpati Didi means a woman whose household earns at least ₹1 lakh a year through SHG work; it is a national target, not a payment.
